Affordable Sensor Tower alternatives in 2026: what Sensor Tower costs and what $9.99 to $99 a month buys instead

Sensor Tower does not publish a price. Its pricing page says it customises a plan for each customer, and Vendr's record of 40 purchases puts the median contract at $75k a year with most deals between $30k and $150k and API access another $5k to $20k on top. An indie developer needs three or four of the things inside that contract, and each one sells on its own for $9.99 to $99 a month. This page lists them by price with what the money buys, checked on every vendor's pricing page on 18 September 2026.

What Sensor Tower costs

The contract is built from modules, seats, markets and how far back the history goes, so two buyers rarely pay the same number. Vendr's median of $75k a year comes with a range of $30k to $150k, and enterprise deployments run past $250k. API access is billed separately at $5k to $20k a year depending on call limits.

The cheap way in used to be AppMagic. Sensor Tower bought it in May 2026 and runs it as the small-team plan, AppMagic publishes no price either, and in January 2026 it moved narrow genre tags and the trending chart behind the paywall. The affordable Sensor Tower is now quote-only too.

Sensor Tower alternatives for indie developers covers what each tool does.

Where the price climbs on each tool

Appfigures is $9.99 for your own apps and stays under $50 for keyword monitoring, then jumps. The first plan that shows another app's downloads and revenue is Boost at $599.99 a month with two competitors, and Amplify at $1,399.99 lifts the competitor cap. Everything an indie wants to know about someone else's app sits between those two tiers.

MobileAction runs $15 for 100 keywords, $69 for 500 and $239 for 1,500. The Apple Search Ads manager stays free until $10k of monthly spend. Ad Intelligence, the part with competitor creatives, is quote-only.

Sonar has one indie plan at $29 with the API and CLI included, an agency plan at $149, and API credit packs from $10 with no subscription.

Appaloma is $59 a month or $499 a year, one plan: 30,000+ USPs, 4,000 named niches, 50,000 apps over $5k a month, screens, prices, ads, and one star reviews pooled per niche. Revenue is a researched band, $5–10k through $250k+, because every vendor's exact figure on an indie app is a model of the same public signals.

AppTweak's Essential at $79 covers an indie. Grow at $249 adds installs per keyword and a year of history, Grow Plus at $499 doubles the limits, and the market data lives on Enterprise, quote-only.

AppFollow is free for two apps, $19 a month billed yearly on the ASO plan, $179 a month or $129 billed yearly on Essential for five apps, and every plan carries unlimited users.

What $59 to $99 a month does not buy

No self-serve tool under $100 gives you a download number for any app, a revenue number for any app and cross-channel ad spend in one place. That bundle is what the $75k contract pays for. The cheapest self-serve route to a competitor's download and revenue estimate is Appfigures Boost at $599.99 a month, and AppMagic, which used to be that route for free, now answers with a quote.

Pay for Sensor Tower when you run paid acquisition across several channels and need competitor spend and creatives. Do not pay for it for the next build or acquisition: its unit is the category and the top chart, and indie money lives three levels below that. Appaloma holds 4,000 named niches, 30,000+ USPs and full intel on the apps in each, at $59.
